ZOOOOEEEYYY, PIG, PIG, PIG, ZOOOOOOOOOEYYY!!!!


Yesterday was quite an adventure. . . we had to move seven pigs 40ft. . . a much harder task than it sounds. The piggies had done all they could with the area they were living. The photo below used to be a nice big swath of pasture before the pigs churned it all up. Next year, Eric and Rob will grow raspberries, asparagus and perennial herbs in that spot. Pigs are very intelligent so they most definitely have a will of their own. Even with seven people (and a dog) as herders the whole process took over three hours.
Pigs LOVE pumpkins and winter squash. LOVE.

I hear ya, we farmed deer and it was a similar process when it was time for them to lose their velvet...
