DAPPER DUDE

Elmer happily wore the scarf around the house for over an hour.

COMME

Elizabeth, of MovesLightly, took logo-love one step further by painting her fingernails with Comme Des Garcon's Play logo. . . If I had nail-beds worthy of attention I'd give these little peepers a try!

OFF TO SAN FRANCISCO!

I'm heading out west this afternoon to visit my sister Alden (aka bff) and I couldn't be happier.  I haven't been out to visit her since spring of 2008 so it's high time!

I'll be there five full days and we are going to try to pack each and every one of them full of food, mini-road trips, and adventure. Now I just need to forecast to clear up!

Planned highlights include:

Creativity Explored.  My sister volunteers here and they're having their Annual Holiday Art Sale opening tomorrow night ("Creativity Explored advances the value and diversity of artistic expression. We provide artists with developmental disabilities the means to create, exhibit, and sell their art in our studios and gallery, and around the world.")

A road trip up to Scribe Winery on Saturday up in Sonoma.  My sister is buddies with the folks behind this amazing vineyard and I've been dying to try their much talked about wine.

Alameda Flea Market on Sunday!!! My sister and I are born hunters so I have a feeling this place will feel like coming home.

Dinner at Alice Waters' Chez Panisse for the Monday night three course dinner.  Never been to Berkeley either!

We are also thinking about getting our Tintypes taken at Photobooth Portrait Studio on Valencia . . . pricey but too cool right?

TURKEY DAY

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
Eric's brother brought two loafs of fresh homemade bread.
I made a huge batch of gravy with giblets and all. . . Momma would be proud.

Our gorgeous 21 pound free range turkey from my friend's family's farm in Woodstock, VT

Eric's pre-mashed potatoes

Classic. . . and the healthiest side dish by far

The dessert spread: Apple pie with a vodka crust, pear cobbler, maple cream pie, carrot cake, pecan pie, fresh whipped cream and homemade vanilla and coffee ice cream.

I carved that turkey with the finesse it deserved.

ZOMBIE BABYLON

Artist Conrad Botes

"For Botes, the pairing of the words 'Zombie' and 'Babylon' acutely conveys the impoverished dream-like reality of modern life, in which most people's daily experience resembles a blurring of soap opera and horror movie. The consumer in contemporary society is already a zombie, the walking dead, living in the shadows and chasing illusions of happiness through insatiable and mindless consumption, inevitably remaining discontent." via

FRESHTABLES

Grabbing some fresher than fresh vegetables Thanksgiving morning.

FOLD.OVER.

If you ever find yourself getting bored with your boots, try re-lacing and folding them over. . . I tried it with my Frye Carson oxfords.

LETTERPRESS

I don't have any experience with letterpress myself, but i've always been drawn to the look, and the amazing old fonts.  I love how the website letterpress.dwolske.com posts both the original stamp and the print it makes.

GOOD GIRL MADDIE

If you haven't heard of the adorable "Maddie", photographer Theron Humphrey's perfectly pose-able coonhound, you are in for a treat. Maddie not only poses for Theron's quirky photos, but also accompanies him on his travels.  These two buddies spent the past year traversing the country meeting, interviewing, and photo-documenting one new person every day, for 365 days. . .

Theron's goal was to use photography to "connect with folks and tell their story." He was able to complete this adventure thanks to his successful Kickstarter fundraising. He titled his amazing project "This Wild Idea." . .

Make sure you check out the interviews and if you use Instagram follow @thiswildidea for more Maddie photos!
