devil in the white city

i'm reading this book right now and am lovvinngg it.  it's about chicago at the end of the 1900s when the Chicago World's Fair was being built.  the book is amazingly detailed and historically accurate (the bibliography at the end is quite impressive) and focuses on two men in particular.  One of the men, H.H. Holmes, was a psychopath disguised as a handsome and charming young doctor who relished in hiring beautiful young women new to the city and then sadistically murdering them.  i quickly realized that this is not a book i should read in bed before going to sleep; i had intense nightmares after doing just that.
