bona fide
London based hyper realist sculptor Ron Mueck blows my mind. He painstakingly creates silicone and mixed media people that are so realistic you might need to take a second look. . . if it weren't for the fact that they are always represented much larger, or smaller, than normal. I saw some of his work when i was visiting my sister in London years ago. . . His subjects are often disturbing, grotesque or sad/forlorn.

that baby picture is insane!
I can't help stare at the first one:
the woman in the bed is so big and then the (younger looking?) woman is so small next to her: I wonder what's going on in that representation?....

RADICAL POST!!! i love his work. especially that baby. he is just an incredible artist.
Imagine being one of his subjects-what a mind fuck.
I absolutely love the way he renders skin. In person his work takes your breath away.
I love Mueck! His "Wild Man" sculpture is my favorite.
last year i studied an artist called PATRICIA PICCININI... her work is very similar to this, in fact i thought it actually was her work.x
"Dead Dad" was the first piece by him that really got me. National Portrait Gallery (London) had him as a resident for a while. Whoa.
