I can't even count the number of times i watched The Rules of Attraction and Slackers in college. . . it started my freshman year. The Rules of Attraction was constantly playing on the college tv station and i just became obsessed. I think it is just one of those movies i will never get sick of. . . and the soundtrack rocks. i made a little mix called Rules Rush Royal that was a combination of the soundtracks from Rules of Attraction, Rushmore, and The Royal Tennenbaums. i think my roommate could have killed me i played it so much. I just loved Shannyn Sossamon's tragic character.
and Slackers is just a fantastic college comedy. doesn't get old either. Jason Schwartzman, a young James King, and lots of shenanigans . excellent piece of cinema.

i completely love shannyn sossamon in that movie! especially the split-screen scene between her and whats-his-face.
i'm embarrassed to say i haven't seen either of these. must add these to the list of late 90's early 00's films i somehow missed, right up there with varsity blues (also with james van der beek, ironically).
"excellent piece of cinema" indeed. for some reason i assosciate (sp?) these movies with cabot cheese and tasty little crackers...
