Serve and Obey

don't you just love a successful thrifting spree?? i got all this great stuff from a thrift barn behind a temple in my town.  The leather pants fit me perfectly but are a little too boot cut.  I can't decide if i wanna make them into shorts, take in the legs so they are more fitted, or just wear them with a loose roll at the bottoms. . .

These great old combat boots are a bit too big for me (fit like a 9) so i might  stud them and list them on etsy. . .

This wool school-boy blazer's pocket had the most fantastic embroidery. . . thus the reason for my buying the jacket.  I think i'm going to remove the pockets and sew them onto something better fitting. . . I am pretty in love with the symmetrically  bucking goats  and the phrase "serve and obey"   maybe it can become  my Rackk and Ruin logo or something. . .

and the vintage oversized "Big Top" shirt just called to me.
It has a great slit almost all the way up one side and will be worn daily this summer.

love the big top, very chic&quirky. yess the sweater won't work with pants unless I wan't top look 90's in a bad (very bad) way! Don't you find that always the best finds come at the most random times? I just ran into that thrift store yesterday because the sunny day shifted to rain and I was half naked!
wow long comment

That's my old school's crest! Our blazers were forest green, but the boy's school next door has navy blazers and they have the same crest: http://www.habsboys.org.uk/

Amazing. Are you in Burlington right now? Imagine this blazer travelling from Herts, UK to Vermont!

Hey Molly, I googled Timothy Johnson and Habs and got so many results. I guess it's a really common name. A bit more info if you're interested, looks like the crest the Haberdashers' Livery Company's (http://www.haberdashers.co.uk) and they own a bunch of schools and I think some charities. I really look forward to seeing what you'll make with the crest!

Also, I've been reading your blog for ages, I'll be really happy if we could exchange links: http://ohmylungs.blogspot.com/
