BIG FUCKKING BUMMER

So last week my iPhone was stolen. . . and since i hadn't bought the Mobilme application there is nothing that AT&T or Apple can do for me. I signed up for AT&T only a couple months ago just so I could have the iPhone so this is especially shitty. Now that i've officially come to grips with the fact that there are assholes out there i've decided that I need to start scrounging up enough money to buy myself another (yup, I need it. lame, i know). And since i'm not signing a contract the iPhone is freakin expensive. Which means I need to start selling off my assets like the balloon boy's parents!

So. . . does anyone have any advice on how to sell a vintage designer piece online and get the most money for it? I have this stunning, pristine condition, velvet Emilio Pucci jacket that I want to sell. . . I know pieces like it are listed online for a pretty penny but i'm not sure if it's better for me to go the Ebay route or the Etsy one. . . hmmmm.

I would just do some research on pricing the jacket (found loads by just googling) and then put it up on ebay. If you want to sell it fast you could price it a bit lower than the average price, or just put down a buy it now price and see if it sells.

Another option would be selling it to a vintage store, you should at least ask a couple of places how much they would pay for it.

Sorry I can't help.

All I can say is I feel for you re: the iphone. Yep there's some dickheads out there. Let's hope karma exists.

Good luck with a jacket. Though maybe the iphone isn't for you. Why does anyone need it anyway? A phone is for texting and making phonecalls, a cheap nokia will do the job. It's weird the way you're so angry yet, you're gonna run off and buy ANOTHER iphone. Let apple learn their lesson, they should provide insurance automatically for a year with such an expensive phone.

Keep you're lovely jacket and buy a super cheap phone. Problem solved.

Ugh. Poor timing. Maybe because of Christmas season, your jewelry selling will jump and you can have enough income from that to afford another? (Which reminds me, that since I just sold my car I can finally afford to purchase one of your pieces. So excited.)

I have to say that I couldn't disagree with anonymous more. iPhone for texting and making calls? How about showcasing your portfolio when you meet that buyer on the street, updating your blog so that "anonymous" has something to read, keeping track of sales, researching the next hot trend?

Hell, the STYLE.COM app is reason enough to get another phone.

Go Etsy on the jacket and name your price. If it doesn't sell, lower it...and lower it...and lower it.

I would go for Etsy! I have a friend who sells vintage on Etsy, and she does extremely well... you should ask her opinion? http://www.etsy.com/profile.php?user_id=6816142
