ON THE WATERFRONT

Spent some Q.T. with the dawg yesterday wandering around the edges of Burlington. The skies threatened all day but never quite opened up.

I got my tasseled bag in the mail the other day and, although i love the style, its "vintag-y smell" is more like the smell that wafts off a lifetime smoker's belongings. . . you know how you can tell which brownies at the bake-sale come from a smokers home? Well, this bag is what they were transported in. Any suggestions?

Maybe coffeepowder could help you - I don't know why but it absorbes smell. Just put it in a bowl or a cup and in the bag for a day or two... Where did you get your shoes from? I love them!

someone once told me to put whatever is smelling in a plastic bag and leave it in the freezer for a night or two. it's supposed to take the smell away strangely enough...maybe try that? good luck!

my mom has used this method with success for getting stale cigarette stink out of leather jacket: fill it with (and bury it in a box of) kitty litter for a couple days. hey presto.

You could try armoral (sp?) wipes that they use to clean car interiors (leather seats,etc.). They are available at any big box store like home depo, walmart...they're cheap.

i read the best way to get the vintage smell out of leather is to iron it with a brown paper bag over it. it will absorb the smell. i might be hard to do on a bag though.

gorgeous shots b.t.w.
