hOmE - NYC
I got a surprise visit from my friend Evan Haslegrave last night. We used to work together years ago but now i only see him once a year or so since he's moved to Brooklyn, NY. Well, Evan and his brother Oliver have been quite busy. They started their own company hOmE a couple years ago after they were asked to design Elsa's interior (an East Village "speakeasy"). They've since completed jobs including the likes of the Manhattan Inn, Paulie Gee's, andDuckduck . . .
Anyway, after halfway through our first drink last night Evan cleared his throat and announced "I have some kind of big news." He reached into is jacket pocket and pulled out the latest New York Magazine (that had just hit newsstands that morning). Evan and his brother were featured in the magazine's Home Design - Fall '10 Family Edition themed spread. The images below are of Evan and Oliver's 1,200 square-foot loft/workshop in Brooklyn. When they moved in last year it was a big empty gutted space. I told Evan i was gonna write Todd Selby and recommend he do shoot their living space.
So basically i'm super proud of my friend and can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
