PAINT THOSE PIGGIES PINK GOD DAMNIT!

Loved this little piece Jon Stewart did on The Daily Show recently. "Non-story" doesn't even begin to sum-up the photo of Jenna Lyons and her son. The Fox folks are batshit crazy. It reminded me of the media uproar when Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was dressing like a "boy" (whatever that means these days). Who gives a fuck. Gender isn't something you can fit nicely into one of two boxes anyway. The fact that Jenna isn't shoving masculine ideals down her 5 year old sons throat makes me jump for joy. Let's all raise our kids without gender stereotypes please. Now everyone chill the fuck out. Jon's comment at the 2:58 mark is my favorite.

Couldn't agree more with you.

People still have those stupid and outdated stereotypes that make me sick. When I was a little girl, I used to play with cars and my parents cut my hair short ! Today, I couldn't be more girly .. and, still, if I wasn't .. what's wrong with that ? Kiss : ) *****

This is great, thanks so much for sharing! I would hope that in this day and age, we would be past gender stereotypes, but that's apparently not the case. That's so sad! My 3 year old SON takes my purple and black nail polish and paints his own fingernails. Who cares! He wears lip gloss - because it tastes like pineapple, not because he has a desire to be female. He also plays with trucks, digs in the dirt and tackles his sisters to the ground. He's a happy, well adjusted boy - regardless if he wears nail polish or lip gloss. Ok, rant over :)

A) that kid is adorable.
b) There are so many other things actually going on in the world
c)If it was a little girl in her dad's tie or carrying around a toolbelt there would be NO conversation.

My little brother used to love getting his toenails painted. He only stopped when he started taking martial arts because he didn't want to get made fun of.
