A CLOSER LOOK

Modern oil paintings? Kaleidoscope capture?  Nay!

These stunning images are actually booze!
Scientist Michael Davidson discovered that when he crystalized different alcoholic drinks and placed the slides under a polarized light microscope he'd get these wild images. When light refracts through the crystals, bright colors and patterns are created!

It's too bad alcohol doesn't look this pretty when it's coming back up at 3am.
