Dadaist

German Dada artist Hannah Hoch was born in Gotha, Germany in 1889 (she died in 1978). As one of the originators of photomontage she created pieces that focused on the faults of our culture of beauty, racism, and created works depicting same sex couples (YAY Vermont for legalizing gay marriage!! i love my state!).  As an avid supporter of womens' rights she was in favor of reproductive control (and had had two abortions herself while involved with fellow Dada artist Raoul Hausmann).
