SPRING CHICKEN. . . I MEAN ONION

It's always fun to harvest something that's been "overwintered" . . . Scallions are perennials so they magically pop up again every Spring. I'm totally psyched that my fridge will soon be filled with fresh veggies again. I have a really hard time paying $10/lb for greens in the winter when they are free and delicious all summer long.
I'm also really excited because my boyfriend Eric (and his farm partner Rob) are going to be starting a blog this season chronicling the trials and tribulations of city farming. They are both hilarious so its destined to be a great read! I'll keep you posted!

i love that you can toggle from high fashion to farming. my kind of gal. everyone thinks i'm all fashiony and shit but i grew up in mountains getting dirty and riding horses and skateboarding. you don't have to be just one way!

I'll be moving into an apartment with the potential for an actual garden this summer, I can't wait to try growing my own herbs and veggies. Of course my history with houseplants has been rather bloody to say the least so we'll see...
