TAVES

Does anyone find this photo absolutely hilarious. . . (with no disrespect).

did it make anyone else insanely jealous?

*** I need to clarify. . . When i say "hilarious", i'm referring to the level of seriousness that Tavi takes herself in relation to the folks around her.  I will never be able to speak with the ease and language that Tavi does about collections she's analyzed or what my first day of 8th grade was like (or is it seventh??) anyway.  I think she is witty beyond her years and she, more than many people at new york fashion week, deserved to be there.  She is obviously a dedicated follower of fashion.
So glad i wasn't sitting next to her though, i would have looked boring as hell in all black, and scared out of my wits!!

i don't get it.
i know she's incredibly stylish but she's a child.
i just don't know if it's a novelty or if there's actually inspiration going on.

i wonder how jen brill feels.

she just looks lost here.. and i'm not trying to bag on her in any way. i think she has a good thing going as far as her blog. she's inventive/creative with her wardrobe with quite a vocabulary for a young teenager. but, i'm not sure she has any business being at fashion week though.

not to hate either, but i think that maybe there is one big thing we're overlooking: childish imagination. im sure we can all remember being a kid and having the most fun inventing new outfits while playing dress up. we weren't fashion savvy per se, we were just having fun. what is so fabulous about her is that she still has it without concern for outside judgement--i wish it was easier to keep in the adult world. bravo.

I think you guys are just biased/jealous.

But I'm biased, too, I'm Tavi's age.
Who says a 13 year old can't hang with Pivovarovas and Yamamotos??
Age is just a number.

I think Tavi is infinitely cooler than Jen Brill. Who, by the way press and blogs- is no longer dating terry richardson (despite engagement rumors)

uhh i just don't really know. i love her witty writing but that's about it.. i mean she isn't all that stylish or fashion savvy in my opinion. just mixin'it all. I mean gudos for her but I dunno. plus is it really that awesome to b next to jen brill who is gorgeous but famous for nothiiiiiing. but i do like tavi no need to get me wrong, just don't really like her style

golden state: lots of people at fashion week have no business being there, mediocre bloggers included....i would say tavi is quite the exception!

isn't she 13 now? when i was her age i certainly didn't consider myself a child...maybe even took myself too seriously...put yourself in her small shoes!

i dont have an issue with her age, or the fact that she is a blogger (bloggers in my opinion have just as much of a place at fashion week as any other journalists. blogs are how fashion gets to the people nowadays)
my problem is how everyone adores her style. she looks ridiculous to me. i hate seeing clones, but she doesnt look 'individual' or quirky, just like a little kid lost in her mums designer clothes.
to me great style is the ability to make non-designer clothes look great and unique, not make designer clothes look cheap.

i also wonder how the 'fame' is going to affect her. sure she is mature and can socialise with adults etc so to me thats not the problem. but will people care about her when shes 16-17? i dont think so...
i just hope she doesnt put this all ahead of schooling etc

This is absolutely ridiculous! The girl is annoying , her writing is boring and i'm sorry this is not a style - this is the bad taste parade.

I think Tavi's a great writer and she is most definitely witty beyond her years. Her style is still in an experimental stage but she wears what she likes and that's very cool.
